Congratulations to Claudia, one of our members, for completing the Brighton Marathon last weekend!
Claudia has been determined that 2019 will be her year of sporting challenges. Since being diagnosed with MS she has found the fatigue hard to manage but she appreciated the support from the Centre so much that she decided to give something back. Through attending our fatigue management course and regular oxygen treatment Claudia has learned strategies to help conserve her energy for when she needs it most – like running 26.2 miles in under 5 hours!
It’s a fantastic achievement and everyone at the Centre is very proud of her.
You cannot always choose when you will have a good day, but I somehow managed to pull through. The crowds all the way along the route were absolutely amazing and cheered every runner along.Seeing so many running for charity for so many worthwhile causes is awe-inspiring, but the ones for the various MS organisations really motivated me to keep going. Couldn’t help myself feeling quite emotional and thanking some of them for their efforts in person whilst running alongside them. I know I’m very lucky that I can still run with my MS, even though I have to be sensible on how far I push myself. This wasn’t easy by any means, but everyone’s support kept me going. Thank you all so much for your generous donations and it’s not too late if you still want to contribute. Claudia Selina
You can still donate towards Claudia’s fantastic achievement on her fundraising page.
You don’t have to run a marathon but you can help the Centre to reach it’s £1m fundraising target this year in many other ways. Find out how.
