The charity was founded as an MS Centre and for 37 years only treated people with multiple sclerosis (MS). In 2022 we launched a pilot programme to open up our doors to people with other neurological conditions and the success of this pilot eventually led to our full rebrand as the Chilterns Neuro Centre in 2023.

Initially we began with Parkinson’s and then stroke survivors later on. These two conditions were chosen due to the similarities between the therapies required to support those with the conditions and what the Centre can offer.

To date, these three conditions – MS, Parkinson’s and strokes – are the only conditions the Centre currently treats as we carefully manage our capability and our capacity, but there may be scope in the future to accept other conditions.
