Mini Neuro Expo
November 2 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
We are excited to be hosting our first Mini Neuro Expo at the Centre featuring three experts in MS, Parkinson’s and strokes as well as an exhibition.
Prof Giovannoni is widely regarded to be one of the leading experts on MS in the country. He is the Chair of Neurology at the Blizard Institute, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London. He is also one of our lovely Patrons.
Viktoria Azoidou is a Clinical Research Associate working with Prof. Alastair John Noyce and Dr. Cristina Simonet at the Centre of Preventive Neurology, Queen Mary University of London. She has 11 years of clinical experience as a Senior Neurological and Vestibular Physiotherapist in both private and NHS outpatient settings. Viktoria’s research focuses on the assessment and rehabilitation of neurological and neurodegenerative disorders, particularly related to movement, balance, gait disorders, vertigo and dizziness. She holds a PhD in Rehabilitation Medicine (Advances in Assessment and Rehabilitation in People with Chronic Vestibular Disorders). Currently, she is collaborating with Charco Neurotech Ltd. to evaluate the effectiveness of the CUE1 device, which aids in managing Parkinson’s-related movement issues through cueing with focused vibrotactile stimulation.
Our third speaker, with a focus on stroke rehabilitation, is yet to be confirmed.
Our exhibition will include stalls from Hollister, Steering Developments, Better Mobility, Ashridge Home Care and Herts Ability, and our lovely volunteers will be running our cafe which will be serving tea, coffee, cakes and sandwiches.
We would love you to come and join us for what is going to be an incredibly informative session.
