Aylesbury Town Council Supports Wellbeing Of People With MS
The wellbeing programme is an important part of our work here at the Centre. We pride ourselves on treating the whole person, and not just the physical symptoms they present with. Supporting people emotionally and practically can have a significant impact on their ability to cope with their condition and day-to-day life. This is why our members value our wellbeing services just as much as our physiotherapy treatments. Our current programme includes occupational therapy, nutrition, carers support, a Buddy scheme and therapeutic leisure groups
Aylesbury Town Council recently awarded us £4,000 to expand our wellbeing programme. This includes enabling additional counselling sessions. These sessions really help members or their families to work through any difficulties they may be facing as part of living with multiple sclerosis. It will also allow us to provide more nutritional support from our dietician and more practical advice through occupational therapy.
Jane Eden, Planning and Grants Officer at Aylesbury Town Council, presented the cheque to Andy Graham and Sharon Deacon from the Centre. On behalf of our members, we would like to thank all of the councillors who awarded this grant to the Centre.
