Further improvements to the hydrotherapy pool
The Centre has recently completed further improvement work on its hydrotherapy pool through the installation of a motorised pool cover. The project will help make our pool more energy efficient, reducing its environmental impact and making vital cost savings for the Centre.
Being able to cover the pool overnight and between sessions will significantly reduce heat loss from the water, which in turn will reduce energy costs from having to constantly bring the pool back up to operating temperature.
The project has been funded by a grant from the Ernest Hecht Charitable Foundation and it will save an estimated £8,000 each year.
The pool at the Centre is used for hydrotherapy which is a form of aquatic physiotherapy where the water supports the body and helps to stabilise someone with balance problems, which can be very beneficial when treating people with neurological conditions.
The Chilterns Neuro Centre provides treatments and services to people with MS, Parkinson’s and stroke survivors, helping them to live life to the full. If anyone affected by one of these conditions feels they would benefit from the services offered then they should get in touch with the Chilterns Neuro Centre by phoning 01296 696133.
