Counselling service to resume in May
Sadly, since the loss of Carolyn in December, we have been unable to offer counselling to our members. Now with self-isolation and social distancing, the mental health of everyone is more important than ever. So we are delighted to announce that we have just appointed a new part-time counsellor, starting on 4 May.
Many of you may already know her, as she used to work as our Community Fundraiser. Sharon Deacon left in 2018 to pursue her love of counselling and qualified last year. She will be working a few hours each week to help our members who might need some extra emotional support, either with their diagnosis or getting through these difficult times.
She will provide person-centred counselling in a confidential and non-judgemental space to help people explore their feelings and emotions to help them make sense of their world. Sessions can take place by telephone or video call and are open to members and carers.
